In honor of Women’s History Month, US Department of Labor Women’s Bureau hosted, "Women Working Together-Writing the Next Chapter of HerSTORY!"  The event was designed for youth and their mentors to reflect on the challenges of working women, discuss areas of concern, and build hope for the future.  Three young ladies of Higher M-Pact were invited to participate in the program by leading the Pledge of Allegiance.  Their role was small but the event left a great impression the young ladies.  They were encouraged and inspired by the distinguished panel of women who shared their personal stories of obstacles they faced on their journey to success.  In addition to connecting to legendary women of Kansas City, they were also able to meet Sara Manzano-Díaz, U.S. Department of Labor Director of the Women’s Bureau.
