Corporate Opportunities
In addition to financial support, your company can become involved with Higher M-Pact by donating professional services to the organization or by providing vocational opportunities such as job shadowing, internships or entry level jobs for the youth Higher M-Pact serves.

Barkley – Marketing Communications Services
Barkley believes in giving back to the Kansas City community that has supported and celebrated with us for more than 40 years. We have been thrilled to work with Higher M-Pact. It is an organization dedicated to the growth of our community and the success of our young urban leaders.
We have partnered with Higher M-Pact to provide them with our marketing communications expertise. Our goal was to help them better tell their incredible story to the public. We are excited about the progress we’ve made in our short time as a corporate partner. Our work thus far has been focused on two things: 1) developing a consistent look and feel for the organization through marketing campaign materials, including the launch of a new Web site, and 2) telling the public through media relations efforts about the “m-pact” this organization is having on the Kansas City community. In addition to garnering media coverage in Kansas City, our team also helped secure a feature story in People magazine. We believe this is only the beginning of the Higher M-Pact story being told more and more on the national level.
Professional service aside, our involvement with Tyrone Flowers and the organization he has built with his wife, Renee, will leave a lasting impact on Barkley. Doing our part to help them fulfill their mission gives us great pride in knowing we are assisting an organization that is truly making a difference in the community, one high-risk urban youth at a time. Our work inspires not just those directly involved, but our entire company feeding our spirit to give back. We are so proud of Higher M-Pact’s accomplishments and feel fortunate we’ve been able to help them along.

Checkdate Solutions, a Paycor Company – Payroll Processing Services
Our firm has continuously tried to emphasize a “balanced service model” that not only involves service to our clients and employees, but also to our community. Through Higher M-Pact, Checkdate and many of its teammates have had an opportunity to work with and support those served by Higher M-Pact. Members have volunteered at a variety of events, participated in service projects and provided financial support through a voluntary deduction program via our payroll service.
On a personal note, the opportunity to serve HMP has been one of the most rewarding and fulfilling opportunities I’ve experienced. I can honestly say that I’ve never personally met anyone who sets the standard higher for overcoming obstacles than Tyrone Flowers. He lives a life that is filled with inspiration, joy, peace, humility, contentment and a desire to positively impact those with whom he comes into contact. He truly exemplifies what it means to be a living sacrifice, putting the betterment of society and humanity above personal gain and self interest.
Higher M-Pact has undoubtedly impacted the lives of thousands through Tyrone and the HMP team’s inspirational message. It is very exciting to think of the lives that will be “M-Pacted” in a transforming and dynamic way as we continue to trust God, act on our vision and serve others!

Helping Hand Foundation – Project Restoring Hope
Higher M-Pact has partnered with The Helping Hand Foundation to share in a joint collaboration on Project Restoring Hope, instilling pride, respect and ownership to two Kansas City housing developments. Project Restoring Hope works in alliance with Higher M-Pact and encompasses the neighborhoods of Charlie Parker Square and Wayne Miner, which house approximately 1000 residents.
It is with this partnership that these families share in resources for the children such as a community center for after-school activities, a computer lab, an on-site library, as well as monthly birthday parties. In addition, playground equipment has been installed on the premises, Health Fairs are made available to residents, and Boy and Girl Scout troops have been established with excellent participation. A “Summer Kick Off” event allows the community to enjoy activities, games, food and even appearances from professional athletes and cheerleaders. The success of this collaboration exhibits our commitment to the community and the determination of ensuring that hope continues through our combined efforts.

RYAN Lawn & Tree Services – Apprenticeship Program
The apprenticeship program has been a great asset to RYAN Lawn & Tree Services. It has been wonderful not only for me, but for all of the associates of RYAN who have had the honor of working with the program. We feel fortunate to have worked alongside and taught some of the most professional young people in our community, and we would like nothing more than to see these bright young people learn valuable life skills and establish a strong foundation for their careers in life. The youth have been trained in the different areas of services that RYAN provides to its customers, such as:
Customer Service: RYAN is focused on customer service and expects every associate visiting a property to treat customers with respect and exhibit a can-do attitude.
Teamwork: The work of lawn crews requires working together as a team, an important life skill for our apprentices to learn.
Strong Work Ethic: Lawn and tree work is physically challenging and requires commitment.
Finally, all apprentices learn the basics of lawn seeding, lawn aeration and have exposure to tree pruning techniques and equipment maintenance, getting a picture of property care which is the first step of environmental stewardship. To ensure that youth experience the culture of the work environment, they attend company meetings and social functions. It is our hope that the youth will learn the necessary skills and develop a desire to be employed with our company or other potential employers.

360 Architecture firm – Building Our Community's Future
For months, 360 Architecture worked with a small group of Higher M-Pact’s youth in its leadership program – engaging them in the process of designing buildings. This initial project has led to the development of a concept for a Higher M-Pact facility that incorporates residential, educational, recreational, vocational, social and administrative areas to support the organization’s goals.
Architecture requires basic skills beyond design, including critical thinking and problem solving. Through this participatory effort, it is our goal to help these young men learn how to ask questions, thoroughly research alternatives and learn to express their ideas in a building solution. As a part of this effort, these young men will be exposed to technologies and software used in programming, designing and documenting a project. 360 team members will take these young men through a step-by-step process including:
- Visiting a potential site and understanding planning issues and how to best fit into the neighborhood
- Visiting similar facilities to research and develop considerations for the Higher M-Pact facility
- Developing an outline of what should be included in the Higher M-Pact facility
- Conceptualizing how the facility would fit onto the site and developing ideas for a design
At the end of this effort, collectively we will have created a solution that can be used to promote Higher M-Pact and excitement about this new facility among the youth and the community . 360 Architecture has formed an internal team of young designers and architects to lead and facilitate this effort, and they are excited by this opportunity to make a difference.
